The One Day Mental Health Module has not been scheduled for 2022 but has been conducted in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne in past years. In it's place the following module is available:
Any eligible health professional can attend the first day of any clinical course as a Single Day Mental health Module in 2022 in order to gain FPS Continuing Professional Development accreditation for Medicare re-registration and for AHPRA re-registration if they are already registered for FPS provision. FPS skills training is required for general practitioners, psychologists, social workers and occupational therapists to use the Medicare FPS related Mental Health Item Numbers.
The One Day Mental health Module
The Module revises and consolidates CBT and Mental Health Skills Training and Focussed Psychological Strategies (FPS) skills training. FPS skills training is required for general practitioners, psychologists, social workers and occupational therapists to use the Medicare FPS related Mental Health Item Numbers. The training is designed for any past graduate of College of Medical Hypnosis courses from any of the health professions to consolidate their knowledge of the FPS, e.g. to treat a phobia. Participants must have had previous CBT and FPS training such as the Clinical Course conducted by the CMH to attend this module. This module does NOT contain formal hypnosis training.
The Module was previously approved by several professional bodies in the 2017-2019 triennium and it is planned to re-submit the courses for approval in the future. It was previously approved by the:
Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) for 40 category one CPD points, 1 ALM in the 2017-2019 triennium.
General Practice Mental Health Standards Collaboration (GPMHSC) for FPS-CPD and MH-CPD for GPs to meet their Medicare ongoing registration requirements in order for them to use the FPS Mental Health Item Numbers.
Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) for 30 PRPD CPD points.
Australian Association Social Workers (AASW) for social workers for 8 credit hours. Social workers can calculate their own CPD points. The AASW no longer accredits non AASW training in 2022.
Australian College of Mental Health Nurses (ACMHN) for 8 CPE points.
Any past College of Medical Hypnosis Clinical Course graduate can attend this training when it is conducted again.
The One Day Mental Health training will COUNT TOWARDS the 104 training hours required for the DIPLOMA of CLINICAL HYPNOSIS (CBT-FPS).
