Applications have been made to several funds to apply for Private Health Fund Benefits for Hypnotherapy Services provided by graduates of the College of Medical Hypnosis Clinical Course CBT - FPS and the Advanced Clinical CBT - FPS Courses.

We are making enquiries as to whether we should advise postgraduates to ring or write to your health fund to request that you acquire provider status for the provision of hypnotherapy services, not to be regarded as a hypnotherapist but to be an AHPRA registered health professional or social worker (registered with the AASW) who provides hypnotherapy services. The health funds respond to the needs of their members and one very large fund is looking to cancel hypnotherapy services because of the lack of claims for hypnotherapy by it's members.

This is applicable for nurses and dentists who do not have Medicare funding for the psychological services which they provide including hypnotherapy and for psychologists, social workers and occupational therapists when the 10 item numbers for the Focussed psychological Strategies sessions have been concluded.
