March and April 2011 One Day Mental Health Module

There is a One Day Mental Health Module being conducted in 2011 in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Darwin from 8.15 am until 5.30 pm.

The Module revises and consolidates CBT and Focussed Psychological Strategies (FPS). These skills are required for general practitioners, psychologists, social workers and occupational therapists for registration with Medicare Australia to use the mental health item numbers.

The module is available to participants who have completed the Clinical Course in Hypnosis (CBT) with the CMH.

The training will COUNT TOWARDS the 104 training hours for the DIPLOMA of CLINICAL HYPNOSIS.

Any past CMH graduates can attend this module.

The module is approved by the RACGP for one Active Learning Module worth 40 Category One points and is also approved for FPS-CPD i.e. for level 2 re-accreditation for the 2011-2013 triennium.

February 2011 One Day Mental Health Module

The Advanced Clinical Course for 2010 was accredited by the RACGP for GPs for 6 ALMs. Each ALM is worth 40 CPD points but the course did not have mental health accreditation in time for the courses and so this module can meet meet that need, but those GPs who completed an Advanced Course in 2010 could attend the One Day Module prior to the 31st of March 2011 in order to meet their 2008-2010 triennial requirements unless they have done additional mental health FPS-CPD training with another provider. The Sydney or Brisbane One Day Module allowed them to complete their 2008-2010 CPD requirements.

The GPMHSC have allowed doctors until the end of March 2011 to complete their 2008-2010 mental health training requirements.

Doctors will need to attend this module or have done another mental health module in the 2008-2010 triennium to continue their Medicare registration requirements.

Please contact the CMH for an application form on phone 02 9688 2300 or fax 02 9688 2800.
